This is Money, the award-winning financial website, needed a fresh new brand.

Cleaner, more personal style to the seemingly impersonal area of finance. Respecting the existing typography style and colour palette, the logo was redesigned to convey a warmer, more modern feel.

 The transformation and update of the This Is Money identity has attracted more internet traffic and shifted the user age range from 40 years-old upwards to 25 to 50-years-old.     The simplicity of the logo has made it easier to use across different devices and social media.

FONT

A font that conveyed a similar mood to the existing Miller Display font was used. The classic, legible form and simple lines of this font style allowed for effective integration into illustrative logo ideas.

THE PROCESS

The first part of the process was to produce logo designs that brought together imagery and text, experimenting with the shape of notes, coins and text to visually accommodate each other.


The second idea was to design a more figurative, expressive logo separated from text that would be easy to use in different scenarios.
